LegalHusk operates an online technology marketplace where Clients and independent Professionals meet, communicate, form direct engagements, and work toward the successful completion of Professional Services. LegalHusk facilitates marketplace access, administrative workflows, communications, records, support, and payment administration through third party providers. LegalHusk does not provide Professional Services, is not a law firm, does not employ or supervise Professionals, is not a party to Client and Professional engagements, and does not guarantee any legal, financial, commercial, or other result.
Safety rule. LegalHusk may not be used to obtain or provide unlawful legal services, misrepresent credentials, abuse legal process, misuse confidential information, or manipulate marketplace payments and records.
1. Scope
This Policy applies to every visitor, Client, Professional, organization representative, reviewer, and person accessing or interacting with LegalHusk. It is incorporated into the Marketplace Terms and Conditions and Professional Agreement.
Users must comply with applicable law, court orders, sanctions, professional rules, Payment Provider rules, and the rights of others. If a local rule is stricter than this Policy, the stricter rule applies.
2. Lawful Marketplace Use
Clients may use the Platform to locate and engage independent Professionals, communicate, record scope, exchange files, administer payments, receive deliverables, submit reviews, and use support.
Professionals may use the Platform only for services they are authorized and competent to provide. Platform access is not permission to practice law in any jurisdiction. LegalHusk may restrict countries, professions, services, payment methods, content, or Users where compliance cannot reasonably be established.
3. Unauthorized Practice and Misrepresentation
A User must not:
- provide legal advice, representation, document preparation, advocacy, or another regulated service without required authorization;
- assist another person to evade licensing, admission, registration, supervision, or professional restrictions;
- use lawyer, attorney, counsel, law firm, specialist, certified, regulated, or an equivalent title inaccurately;
- conceal suspension, discipline, service restrictions, insurance changes, lack of supervision, location, or jurisdictional limits;
- create a false Professional, Client, firm, regulator, insurer, court, or Payment Provider identity; or
- imply that LegalHusk provides, supervises, endorses, guarantees, or is professionally responsible for Professional Services.
4. Nonlawyer Services
A paralegal or other nonlawyer may offer only services permitted where the matter is connected. Unless independently authorized, a nonlawyer must not give legal advice, select legal strategy, establish an attorney client relationship, appear as a lawyer, negotiate as counsel, or prepare documents in a manner constituting unauthorized practice.
Where supervision is required, the responsible lawyer or firm must be identified and must accept the duties required by law. A Client must not direct a nonlawyer to act outside lawful authority.
5. Fraud, Deception, and Abuse of Legal Process
Users must not use the Platform to:
- commit fraud, forgery, identity theft, impersonation, money laundering, bribery, corruption, sanctions evasion, tax evasion, or trafficking;
- fabricate, destroy, conceal, alter, backdate, or falsify evidence, records, signatures, credentials, invoices, messages, filings, or review content;
- coach perjury, mislead a court or authority, obstruct justice, evade lawful service, or violate an order;
- pursue a knowingly frivolous, extortionate, abusive, retaliatory, discriminatory, or unlawful claim or tactic;
- harass, threaten, stalk, intimidate, dox, exploit, or discriminate against another person; or
- obtain services for an unlawful purpose or misrepresent the identity, source, authority, facts, or intended use of work product.
A Professional must reject unlawful instructions and act as professional duties require.
6. Emergency and Deadline Misuse
LegalHusk is not an emergency service. Users must not rely on an inquiry, quote, automated acknowledgement, payment, or support request to protect a deadline, stop legal process, respond to arrest, secure safety, or obtain urgent relief.
A User must not state that a Professional accepted responsibility for a deadline unless that acceptance is recorded in writing. For urgent matters, contact an authorized local lawyer, court, agency, emergency service, or competent authority directly.
7. Confidential, Privileged, and Sensitive Information
Users may upload or disclose information only when they have lawful authority and when reasonably necessary for the intended purpose. Before conflicts clearance, a Client should provide only party names, adverse parties, general matter type, jurisdiction, and urgent dates.
Users must not:
- publish or disclose another person's privileged, confidential, sealed, restricted, or protected information without authority;
- expose government identifiers, payment credentials, medical records, passwords, private addresses, child information, or similar data unnecessarily;
- obtain information through hacking, deception, unlawful surveillance, or breach of duty;
- use matter information for advertising, unrelated profiling, discrimination, blackmail, or retaliation; or
- place private matter information in a public review or public profile.
8. Security and Technical Abuse
Users must not upload malware, ransomware, malicious code, or corrupted content; probe or test security without written authorization; bypass authentication or access controls; scrape, crawl, harvest, or copy data through unauthorized automation; overload systems; intercept communications; access another account; or attempt to discover source code or vulnerabilities unlawfully.
Users must protect credentials, use authorized devices, keep account information current, and report suspected unauthorized access to [email protected] promptly.
9. Artificial Intelligence and Automation
Users must not use automation to create fake profiles, reviews, messages, Orders, evidence, credentials, or activity. Users must not upload private matter information to a general purpose model for training or unrelated use without lawful authority and any required consent.
A Professional remains responsible for accuracy, confidentiality, privilege, security, supervision, bias, citations, disclosure, and Client consent for tools used in Professional Services. Fabricated citations, invented facts, false evidence, or unreviewed output presented as professional work are prohibited.
Users may not use Platform Content, communications, or private data to train or build a competing system without written permission and lawful rights.
10. Payment and Marketplace Manipulation
Users must not use stolen payment methods, false billing information, undisclosed beneficial owners, sham transactions, circular payments, duplicate recovery, false refunds, false chargebacks, or payment splitting intended to evade law or Payment Provider controls.
Users must not relabel prohibited fee sharing or referral compensation as a Platform Fee; manipulate milestones, delivery status, time records, invoices, evidence, or payout conditions; create fake Orders to manufacture reviews or ranking; or deceptively move an existing Order away from the Platform to avoid a properly disclosed fee.
Nothing prevents a Client from ending an engagement, changing counsel, or communicating directly with a Professional as permitted by law and the Engagement Agreement.
11. Reviews, Rankings, and Advertising
Users must not buy, sell, fabricate, trade, threaten, suppress, or manipulate reviews. An incentive may not depend on positive or negative sentiment and must be disclosed where permitted.
Professionals must not make misleading claims, guarantee results, misuse protected titles, conceal material limitations, or imply LegalHusk or regulator endorsement. Sponsored placement must remain clearly labeled and may be used only where lawful.
12. Intellectual Property
Users must not upload, sell, distribute, or use content without required rights; remove rights notices; misappropriate another Professional's work; counterfeit documents; or use the Platform to facilitate infringement.
A valid rights complaint should identify the protected work, the challenged material, contact information, a good faith basis, and any statement required by applicable law. LegalHusk may remove or restrict material while reviewing the report.
13. Illegal Content and Restricted Activity
Users must not post, request, promote, or facilitate content or services involving exploitation of children, trafficking, terrorism, unlawful weapons, credible threats, nonconsensual intimate material, unlawful discrimination, illegal surveillance, or other conduct prohibited by law.
LegalHusk may report emergencies or unlawful conduct to competent authorities where required or permitted. LegalHusk may preserve relevant records subject to law and the Privacy Notice.
14. Communications and Conduct
Users must communicate professionally and must not spam, mass solicit, send deceptive promotions, collect contact details for unrelated marketing, pressure a person to reveal confidential information, or continue unwanted contact after a lawful request to stop.
Marketing communications must follow consent, identification, unsubscribe, advertising, and professional solicitation rules. Essential account and Order communications are not marketing.
15. Circumvention and Account Misuse
A User must not sell, rent, lend, transfer, or share an account; evade a suspension; create duplicate accounts to manipulate Platform controls; misrepresent authority for an organization; or transfer an Order without required consent.
A Professional may not subcontract or substitute the responsible Professional in a way that violates the Engagement Agreement, Client consent, confidentiality, conflicts, or professional rules.
16. Reporting a Concern
Report suspected violation through the available Platform control or to [email protected]. Identify the profile, Order, message, review, or content and explain the concern. Provide only evidence reasonably necessary and redact sensitive information where possible.
For imminent danger, contact local emergency services. For a professional complaint, contact the relevant regulator where appropriate. A report to LegalHusk does not preserve a legal deadline.
17. Investigation and Enforcement
LegalHusk may use automated signals and human review; request information; preserve records; limit content visibility; pause payments where permitted; restrict features; require verification; warn, suspend, or terminate a User; and report conduct where lawful.
LegalHusk may act immediately where delay could create safety, unauthorized practice, fraud, payment, confidentiality, security, deadline, sanctions, or regulatory risk. Where reasonable and lawful, LegalHusk will provide notice and an opportunity to respond.
Enforcement will consider seriousness, intent, recurrence, evidence, harm, cooperation, remediation, professional duties, and law. A Platform decision is not a court or disciplinary finding.
18. Appeals
A User may request review within fourteen calendar days by identifying a material factual error, new evidence, or inconsistent application. LegalHusk may keep temporary safeguards in place during review.
Nothing limits a lawful report to a regulator, court, privacy authority, consumer authority, law enforcement body, insurer, or other competent person.
